The team, role & responsibilities

The NAB Financial & Equity Advisory team is part of our broader Corporate Finance business and offers independent and bespoke Financial Advisory (both Debt & Equity), ECM and Ratings Advisory solutions to our Corporate & Institutional clients across the Infrastructure & Renewables, Financial Institutions, Resources, Industrials, Agri and Real Estate sectors.

Working closely with a group of dedicated professionals as well as the Bank's specialist industry teams, you will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of transactions including;

  • Mergers and Acquisitions – buy and sell side
  • Project Finance and development
  • Strategic Expansions and succession planning
  • Property Sales and Leasebacks
  • Lead/Co Lead Manager roles on listed and unlisted ECM raisings
  • Credit Ratings Advisory in conjunction with DCM opportunities.

The Associate Director position will both support Directors and, under direction of the Co-Heads of Financial & Equity Advisory, lead and manage complex transactions, including identification, evaluation, origination, development and execution of transactions to support the client franchise.  Further, the position will lead by example for junior team members demonstrating commitment to the corporate principles and work collaboratively within Corporate Finance and the broader bank to deliver shareholder value.

Further responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside the Directors and Co-Heads of Advisory within all aspects of Corporate advisory assignments
  • To assist in marketing initiatives, contribute to pitch documents for prospective clients, participate in corporate valuations and perform due diligence on corporate finance transactions
  • Manage and coordinate work with third party advisers during due diligence processes, e.g. lawyers and accountants
  • Liaise with other areas of Corporate Finance, Markets and Client Coverage to take advantage of cross sell opportunities.
  • To actively promote and market the business internally and externally.
  • Oversee financial modelling and key transaction documentation
  • Coaching, monitoring and supervision of junior team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their role and to develop their skill set.

About you

As the successful candidate you will have relevant tertiary qualifications combined with 5+ years Corporate Advisory origination or execution experience within an Investment Banking, Chartered Accounting, Funds Management or ECM environment.

You’ll have demonstrable experience working on complex transactions involving detailed financial modelling, due diligence, legal documentation and pitch preparation.  Existing industry contacts would be highly regarded as would be your ability to work with clients across a range of asset classes.
