The Risk and Assurance Manager will provide independent reviews, evaluations and advice across Financial Market and Treasury business that will assist management in exercising its responsibility to develop, maintain, monitor, and continuously enhance control frameworks and systems. It is also to promote the development of a strong, effective and enduring risk management culture

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of the annual audit plan
• To independently lead the planning and execution of assurance engagements
• Deliver assurance reviews inline with the 2nd Line Assurance Methodology
• Act as an ambassador for the organisations Assurance throughout the assurance process
• Prepare and deliver training presentations to assurance teams.
• Management of and participation in assurance fieldwork including the monitoring of team member progress(when playing the team lead role)
• Accurately assess the materiality of assurance issues
• Delivery of draft assurance report where required
• Develop ongoing working relationships with the Business Heads and their teams
• Provide input into resource planning.
• Guide and develop Senior Associates.
• Engage and provide advise around risk and control matters raised by first line including pre-assurance work over key projects and change initiatives

Key Requirements:

• 3-5 years experience in internal audit or Big 4 accounting practice with relevant experience in financial services
• Accounting Qualification - CA or CPA
• Strong experience in a financial markets business risk and control environments from end to end perspective. This includes demonstrated understanding of compliance and operational risk and controls associated with the end to end value chain.
