We currently have a vacancy in our Melbourne CBD Advice team following the recent internal promotion of a highly successful financial planner in our business. The outgoing adviser has developed very strong and beneficial internal relationships and has been partnering effectively with our Asian client base in Chinatown, as well as an additional CBD location.
As a result, we are now seeking an experienced adviser with fluent Mandarin language skills and a proven track record of working with and developing new business with Asian customers, to continue the great work in this location. The incumbent will inherit exceptional referral partner relationships and will benefit from supporting a customer base with a strong affinity to our brand.

In this role, you’ll utilise your exceptional engagement skillset to create a memorable financial planning experience for your customers and in doing so build and maintain quality relationships. You’ll partner closely with branch staff to coach them on the advice process and how to identify financial planning opportunities.
You’ll receive ongoing support from our industry leading Licensee Services team who will help you to deliver on your promises to your customers. This support combined with your positive attitude, market leading technology and our strong focus on investing in your professional development will ensure your success in the role.
We work in a highly regulated field, and we take the responsibility of planners at CommBank very seriously, so there are a few mandatory requirements for your application:
- Degree in Finance, Business, Commerce or a related discipline from a recognised Australian tertiary institution or international equivalent
- Diploma of Financial Services. Financial Planning giving you RG146 Compliance in the following: Generic Knowledge, Securities, Managed Investments, Life Insurance, Superannuation, Financial Planning and Skills.
- A current, unrestricted driver’s license.
- Previous work experience as a financial planner essential
- Financial advice experience in either a bank aligned business or where there has been demonstrable evidence of strong referral partner management is highly beneficial
