Our Opportunity – Relationship Manager, Industry Banking (Manufacturing & Wholesale)

The Relationship Manager (RM) is responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of medium to large size business connections with average turnover between $5-$100 million per annum. The focus will be on winning new to bank customers in the Manufacturing & Wholesale industry however will not be limited to this sector.

The RM acts as a trusted advisor to drive sustainable business growth over time. The RM also sources new-to-bank clients through self-generated and Bank of Melbourne-developed marketing initiatives & by establishing and maintaining a quality referral network. The RM will actively refer customers to appropriate segments in order to ensure the needs of the customer and Bank of Melbourne are consistently met and in addition will work collaboratively with a network of specialists in areas such as wealth, financial markets, cash flow and transactional banking.

Some key accountabilities of the role include, however are not limited to;

  • Initiating & facilitating outstanding interactions with existing and prospective customers;
  • Maintaining existing exposures and ongoing lending and credit requirements (periodic risk reviews);
  • Focus on winning new to bank customers;
  • Maximising opportunities to earn all of our customers’ business, including lending, deposits, transactional banking solutions, investments and protection; and
  • Developing and growing deep industry expertise and referral networks.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

  • Proven Relationship Management experience – ideally showing how you have grown & developed a portfolio of accounts
  • A passion for delivering outstanding customer service
  • Strong credit skills, including cashflow lending
  • Proven track record in Business Development and acquiring new to bank business
  • Well established network of referral sources
  • Proven balance sheet analysis and deal structuring (Commercial / Corporate deals)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are preferred
