Risk Management ensures the Group has appropriate strategies and frameworks in place to assess, manage and report on credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks.

You will be a member of the Operational and Compliance Risk Department that supports Bankwest to achieve its vision.  The Manager, Business Continuity & Crisis Management is responsible for supporting Bankwest business stakeholders in preparing for and responding to business disruptions.

 

Your role will include (but not limited to);

  • Ensuring that the Business Continuity Framework complies with BC Policy and regulatory requirements and by promoting awareness of excellent Business Continuity Management practice across Bankwest.
  • Manage the Bankwest business continuity program to ensure business continuity risks are appropriately assessed and business continuity plans are developed, tested and maintained
  • Engage with business leaders to develop and implement business continuity projects across the bank.
  • Provide specialist input into business owner review and assessment of continuity strategies and supporting processes and facilities.
  • Development and maintenance of the Bankwest Crisis Management, Natural Disaster, Pandemic plans etc.
  • Develop and maintain Business Continuity Management guides, tools and training material in alignment with Group BC Policy.
  • Develop and deliver desktop exercises and simulations to validate BC and CM capability.
  • Supporting management in responding to disruptive events in accordance with the Crisis Management Framework.  As such, this role participates in a 24/7 on-call roster to ensure crisis events are responded to appropriately.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders

    Your skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a risk management role.
  • Tertiary qualification(s) in Business, IT or other relevant discipline(s).
  • Financial services experience and understanding of Banking industry technology (desirable).
  • Ability to maintain focused on tasks whilst under pressure, e.g. during crisis incidents.
  • Excellent communication skills (listening, written, verbal).
  • Knowledge of business continuity standards, e.g. BCI Good Practice Guidelines, ISO22301 or APRA CPS 232.
  • Previous experience in a business continuity or IT service continuity role (desirable).
  • Strong process / business analysis skills.
  • Ability to persuade and influence people at all levels, internal and external, creating a positive impression.
