Manage a team of strong CA's. Responsible for the delivery of the annual and interim results for the group. Internal consulting role for the business.
Newly created position with this Financial Services giant. A great start to the new financial year and a leadership role that has a collaborative team and a clear career path.
You will primarily be responsible for the delivery of the annual and interim results for the group. Financial Services experience is not essential, however large blue chip or ASX commercial experience will be highly regarded. As a newly created role, you will be providing true advice and consultation to the business on all financial matters.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of finance professionals that work towards the delivery of the group annual and interim results
- Ensure staff are appropriately trained and supported to carry out their roles effectively
- Provide strong leadership and ensure development and performance goals are achieved
- Monitoring technical accounting developments
- Keep abreast of transactional developments that require technical support
- Advice and consultation to the business on all financial matters
- Assist with technical interpretation of new accounting pronouncements and their implementation
- Initiate and drive any process improvement initiatives
- Review of monthly financial results
- Identify any key trends and drivers and write commentary to the business
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified accountant with several years of post-qualified experience
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Proven leadership skills and collaborative work style
- Strong stakeholder management skills both internal and external
- Strong communication skills, confident in dealing with colleagues at all levels across the group
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex matters in a succinct manner
- Organised and able to prioritise a varied workload
- Confident, pro-active and enthusiastic approach to challenges
