An opportunity has become available for a graduate or experienced auditor to join a successful and well established Top 20 BRW Sydney CBD practice, in their growing Audit Division.
Reporting to the Audit Partners and Managers, you will focus on a broad range of external audit assignments and gain exposure to an assorted client base including ASX listed entities, small to large corporate organisations and NFPs. Our clients cover a broad range of industry sectors, including financial services, manufacturing, construction, education and aged care. You will also have exposure to tax return preparation, superannuation funds and ad-hoc consultancy projects.
Please note that some travel interstate may be required with members of the Audit Team from time to time.
Some specific responsibilities of the role include:
- Assisting Partners and Managers with the planning of audits, including designing and implementing audit strategies and procedures
- Establishing CaseWare files for multiple entities in groups
- Conducting and completing field work and analysing financial information
- Completion and management of client work assignments within an efficient timeframe
- Preparation of financial statements and cash flow statements using CaseWare
- Identifying and communicating issues with Partners and Managers in a timely manner
- Being a point of contact for client queries
- Running small to mid-sized audits from planning to completion
- Assisting, and developing the skills of junior team members
Ideally you will have:
- Recently graduated or have 0-1 year experience in external audit in Australia
- Seriously considering to enroll for the CA program or commenced initial modules
- Some understanding of software such as CaseWare, APS, Xero and MYOB
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem solving skills and a high attention to detail
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships
- A commitment to a long term career within professional practice
