About the Role
The Financial Accountant is responsible for the end to end accounting function across Clarins revenue, cash flow projections and main operating accounts on a daily basis. The Financial accountant will prepare monthly management reports by collecting data analyzing and investigating variances; Summarizing data, information and trends.
The successful candidate has a background within FMCG, Retail or a business where you have partnered closely with Supply Chain. You are a relationship builder, love working on analysis and can be forward thinking in your approach.
We are currently based in Rosebery, and moving to new CBD offices in September
Key Responsibilities
- General accounting, reconciling balance sheets and managing inter-company accounts
- Ownership of credit and cash management and preparing cashflow projections and main operating costs
- Prepare monthly management reports and Month end journals
- Collaborate with multiple divisions such as supply chain , marketing etc
- Prepare tax compliance documents such as FBT and BAS
- Provide month end journals and yearly closing, reconciliations and reporting, ensuring the accounting books are maintained accurately and timely
- Liaise and manage the requests/queries of auditors (external and internal), tax consultants, bankers and statutory boards.
- Supporting the Financial Controller in the preparation and review of the receivable and credit control policies of the organization,
- Provide strong recommendations for better efficiency and best practices in the work place
About You
- You have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a Financial Accountant role
- You have technical accounting knowledge in a similar FMCG/retail, or hospitality business
- You have exposure to IFRS and financial statements
- You have a Tertiary qualification as a CPA/CA
- You have Prior experience in accounting/audit firms will be an added advantage
- You have excellent system knowledge including MS Excel, JDE, Oracle, SAP and/or Hyperion
- You are proactive and commercially astute
- You are analytical, meticulous and positive
