Jones Day is seeking a Financial Services Assistant Manager for a 12 month contract to support the Australian offices of Jones Day. This role is offered on either a part-time (4 days/week) or full time basis.
This role will report into the Financial Services Manager for Australia and will work with the broader finance team based in the Sydney office.
On a day-to-day basis, the key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of monthly BAS reconciliation; including ongoing improvement process review to automate this process and make improvements
- Ad-hoc reporting
- Ad-hoc projects
- Assistance with annual budgets
- Assistance with pipeline management and collections
- Preparation of tax workpapers (FBT, income tax)
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Support for the rest of the finance team; e.g. expense claim review, back up as needed.
We are seeking candidates who hold/display:
- A minimum of four years' experience in accounting, professional services experience preferred but not required
- An accountancy degree
- CPA or CA qualifications
- Advanced excel skills
- An ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Effectiveness in prioritising
- Effective time management and the ability to drive projects through to completion within agreed timelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong attention to detail
- A pragmatic, friendly and down-to-earth approach
