Current Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity for a Manager to join the Business Restructuring team based in our Melbourne firm. You will be a key player in the management of the Business Restructuring team, primarily focused on Independent Business Reviews and Pre-Lends work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate Independent business reviews and Pre-lending reviews for financial institutions
• Coordinate Formal insolvency e.g. voluntary administrations, receiverships, liquidations, including Court liquidations, Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidations, and Members’ Voluntary liquidations
• Develop reconstructions/workouts/informal agreements and design appropriate financial models and report protocols (e.g. cash flow 3 way models)
• Provide litigation support
• Determining the benefits and risks associated with an engagement
• Formulating and recommending strategies to advance matters
• Using best resources to manage engagement, including internal and external resources
• Applying appropriate controls to each engagement
• Drafts moderate to complex reports to lenders and creditors
• Building and developing relationships with clients/referrers and across the BDO network including promoting the business restructuring offering
• Ensuring a strong Client focus, making recommendations and adding value to ensure client satisfaction
• Reviews the compilation of information and the conclusions subordinates have drawn in work papers and applies expertise to the analysis
• New business proposals and business development
• Ensures all working papers are accurate and file is maintained in appropriate manner
• Ensures investigations are completed and any identified contraventions are reported on a timely basis
• Applies expertise to the preparation of budgets & cash flows, makes adjustments on those cash flows and provides grounding for those adjustments
• Proactively develops individuals through on-the-job training, demonstrates an ability to identify key capabilities; motivates team
• Compliance with firm based L&OD programs and participates in training  and development in order to keep abreast of the corporate market

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:

• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business or similar
• Qualified CA/CPA and IPAA qualified
• A minimum of 4-5 years, or equivalent experience in a similar role in a professional services firm. 
• A sound working knowledge of the corporate market including voluntary administrations, liquidations and receiverships, as well as the personal market including bankruptcy, personal insolvency agreements and debt agreements.
• Exhibits solid technical knowledge of employment law, OH&S Laws, Environmental laws etc.
• Demonstrated networking, business development, interpersonal and people influencing skills,
• Confident leadership and management skills including the ability to delegate and manage work flow
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Ability to effectively liaise with referrers of work, solicitors, directors, banks and creditors
• Strong problem solving, financial analysis and investigative skills
• Able to contribute and collaborate in a team environment and staff across the business
