About the Job

In this newly created role, you’ll work with a variety of stakeholders, ensuring effective financial controls are observed and followed in a consistent way for the protection and management of the Fund and Trustee Company’s financial resources.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review the financial activities of the organisation and fund in order to ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting including income tax, GST, fringe benefit tax and APRA reporting
  • Contribute to the preparation of the annual financial statements for the Trustee and Fund and its subsidiaries to ensure reports are produced and available on a timely and accurate basis
  • Key contact for administrator, custodian, external auditor and tax advisor in relation to financial reporting obligations
  • Ensure appropriate controls within the finance function are complied with in order to manage the operating risks relating to finance resources including expense authorisation
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise to support financial accounting related projects as required by the business
  • Design, develop and implement new systems and processes to ensure ongoing efficiency improvements and cost reductions

About You:

Ideally, you’re already a financial accountant in financial services looking to join a market leader. Aside from highly-developed communication skills, high attention to detail, organisational skills, the ability to work alone and in a team, and ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously, you’ll also bring to us:

  • CA or CPA qualified
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Financial Accountant
  • Experience in the Financial Services Industry
  • Good knowledge of the Superannuation Industry
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with stakeholders
  • High proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent research, numeric and analytical skills
