About the Role
Working closely with the Director of Finance, the role is responsible for leading the TBS Financial Accounting function and providing TBS with strong and well integrated support and guidance in the areas of financial and corporate governance, financial practices and business decision making based on sound and well considered financial information.
To achieve this purpose, the position holder would typically:
- Provide outstanding leadership of TBS financial accounts function, measured by effectiveness and engagement
- Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations managing preparation and lodgement of compliant annual accounts.
- Review monthly business cash flow and funding and take action agreed with Director of Finance to provide sufficient cash flow and funding to meet business demands
- Review monthly performance of financial accounts team against agreed objectives and develop strategies for continuous improvement
- Working closely with the management and executive leadership team to share reports and analysis findings
- Collaborate, design, implement and review finance systems, policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement
- Oversee finance systems management, developing and training of staff to ensure a high level proficiency in critical finance systems
- Preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecast reports.
- Ensuring reporting functions and responses to ad hoc requests for financial related information are appropriately delivered
- Manage relationships with others across TBS to achieve alignment in key business strategies and decisions
- Manage a range of other activities including endowment fund reporting and maintenance, insurance management, governance and internal control, business administration
- Instil a culture of continuous improvement by driving process improvements with support and direction from the Director Finance ensuring all improvements are always tested through the ‘customer lens’
About You
- CPA/CIMA with at least 10 years’ finance experience
- Minimum five years’ experience in a senior management position
- Strong budgeting and forecasting experience
- Prior experience in the Not-for-profit (Ageing and Disability) sector desirable
- Strong customer service skills and ability to build strong working relationships with all stakeholders
- Ability to encourage others and a proactive, can-do mindset
- Understanding of and commitment to business excellence
- Desire and drive to innovate and develop agile, client focussed service delivery
- Strong leadership presence to set standards and expectations and engage staff in their achievement
- Strong management skills including people and performance management, troubleshooting, managing multiple deadlines, conflict resolution, and team leadership
