This part-time role represents a rare opportunity for an accomplished Senior Accountant to combine part-time work in a dynamic professional Accounting environment with family responsibilities, or even a lifestyle change.

Practice
Our client is a long-established progressive Accounting firm providing professional accounting, taxation and business services to individuals, SMEs and SMSFs. Over many years the practice has acquired a solid reputation for providing quality advice and service to a loyal clientele spanning a diverse range of private and business sectors.

Currently experiencing a strong growth phase, they are seeking a Senior Accountant to join their friendly, professional practice based near Hurstville to work in a part-time capacity.

The practice embraces a family friendly, employee supportive professional working environment, with the flexibility to match work hours with the successful candidate’s personal circumstances.

Role
This is a part-time role, comprising of a minimum of 24 hours per week that may be spread over Monday to Friday. It reports to the Practice Principal and carries responsibility for preparing financial statements and statutory compliance reports. These include BAS, FBT and tax returns, for individuals, SMEs and SMSFs across various sectors, as well as providing tax planning and business advisory services to clients.

Candidate
The successful candidate will have a tertiary Accounting qualification and ideally hold CA or CPA status. You will also have at least five years’ business services/taxation experience in a CPA or CA firm, where you will have acquired extensive knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and its application and impact on the SME sector.

That experience should have equipped you with the capability to function effectively with a high degree of autonomy in the accurate completion of your work, consistent with the astuteness to know when to refer a matter to the Principal
  
You background will also have given you well-developed interpersonal skills, enabling you to relate well to a diverse range of people and to build long-term, quality business relationships with clients.

Other essential personal attributes and skills include:

• A professional demeanour
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A positive work ethic
• Sound planning / organisational skills, giving the capacity to meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail when required, but coupled with awareness of the implications of bigger issues
• Solid experience & proficiency with Handisoft, Xero and MYOB

Remuneration
The salary is market competitive and negotiable. It will be based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
