About the role
This role is accountable for undertaking a range of procedural, operational and administrative tasks and activities, governed by established procedures and policies. This important role will suit someone with high attention to detail, a solid understanding of payroll processes and systems and a can-do, customer service mindset. The Payroll Services Branch provides corporate services over an employee’s pay life cycle. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same and where team work, communication and collaboration are key.
Our client is seeking the following experience and skills sets:
- SAP Payroll System knowledge is desirable however the capacity to quickly learn SAP and other systems quickly and competently is essential
- Be an effective team member
- To work independently and exercise some autonomy with general direction from more senior staff
- An ability to perform research, analysis payroll data and perform payroll audits which are straight forward in nature to identify over and under payments of salary and leave provisions
- Able to work towards specific deadlines with a high level of precision, accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to provide quality advice and service to clients using well established policy and practices as a guide
- Have the ability to manage relationships and work purposefully and effectively with others
Responsibilities:
- Calculate employee entitlements and process payroll tasks in the Payroll system in accordance with relevant legislation, policy and established procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate client details in Payroll System - including updating of information for Superannuation requirements
- Respond to straight forward payroll enquiries.
- Perform straightforward pay audits to determine over and under payments.
- Provide Administrative Support including filing, photocopying, scanning personnel files and associated documents, routine user maintenance of office equipment.
- Provide briefing to Team Leader of issues affecting their work area and identifying strategies to overcome obstacle, including client education strategies.
Should you be successful, you will be required to undergo a BASELINE clearance and must be an Australian Citizen.
This is a temporary role to start in August 2018 - until July 2019.
