A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Payroll Officer to join our high volume, fast paced Payroll team who looks after 3000+ employees. Reporting into Payroll Manager, your role will primarily focus on working in a hands-on processing role.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Process and calculations of the weekly, fortnightly, bi-fortnightly and monthly pay runs
- Analysing and auditing of all payrolls, ensuring legislative and award compliance
- Continual improvement and standardisation of payroll operations, payroll systems and payroll procedures
- Liaising with HR regarding terminations, employee appointments, remuneration, conditions of service and other relevant matter
- Liaising with HSE to coordinate workers compensation and monitor the process of claims
- Ensuring timely response to all payroll queries
- Assisting with month end and end of year reconciliations, reporting and payment summaries
As our successful candidate you have proven experience working in a high volume and fast paced Payroll Office. You take initiative and have excellent problem solving skills with extensive knowledge of current legislations, tax and superannuation. You are customer service focussed with highly effective communication and interpersonal skills. You also possess a high attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively to meet deadlines. Exposure to PeopleSoft and/or similar payroll systems along with advanced MS Excel skills will be viewed favourably.
