The Organisation:

This high profile government department offers complex, diverse and broad policies and programs. This department is often featured in the public eye and provide crucial services to the residents of Australia.

The Opportunity:

This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and busy environment, working in a large and established team to provide superior Payroll Administrative support across the Department. The successful candidate will secure a 9 month contract with long term extension options available.

The Role:

Working as a Payroll Administrator, you will be required to;

• Administer Conditions of Service.
• Calculate employee entitlements and process payroll tasks in Departmental systems.
• Maintain accurate client details in Departmental systems.
• Provide straightforward payroll and conditions of service advice to clients and staff.
• Respond to straight forward payroll enquiries.
• Perform straightforward pay audits to determine over and under payments.
• Provide administrative support including filing, photocopying, scanning personnel files and associated documents.
• Brief Team Leader about issues affecting their work area and identify solutions, including client education strategies.

The Person:

Successful applicants will have;

• The capacity to work as an effective team member.
• The ability to work independently and exercise some autonomy with general direction from more senior staff.
• An ability to perform research, analyse payroll data with ease.
• An ability to work towards specific deadlines with a high level of precision, accuracy and attention to detail.
• An ability to provide quality advice and service to clients through solid communication skills.
• An ability to remain focussed in busy environments while maintaining strong working relationships.

Essential requirements;

• Australian Citizenship.
• A current Baseline Security Clearance.
• SAP Payroll System knowledge is highly desirable however the capacity to quickly learn SAP and other systems quickly and competently is essential.

The Salary:

$35 - $40 p/hr + 9.5% Super
