A fantastic opportunity to join a large leisure/tourism group who are looking for a Head of Finance to build out Finance for a new part of the business. The role is looking for an extremely hands on leader to implement everything from the ground up including systems to policies and procedure, recruit a finance team and consult and advise the business on strategy and what the business needs to be set up for success.
As the Head of Finance, you will control all financial aspects of the operations including the integration and integrity of all operational systems, establish and execute internal controls over the accounting and financial procedures and provide accurate and timely financial and management reporting.
Reporting to the General Manager, your role will encompass a variety of duties, including:
- Financial leadership to provide financial support and guidance to business unit management in making sound commercial decisions, including business development/growth strategies.
- Establish and maintenance of effective internal control environment and integrity of business processes as far as they impact financial reporting, profitability and cash flow, including working closely with shared business functions to improve common processes, controls and procedures.
- Provide strong leadership to recruit, develop and mentor a finance team.
- Preparation of monthly management reporting schedules for distribution to Management and stakeholders each month. Prepare an analysis of variations from budget / forecast results.
- Prepare regular profit and cash flow forecasts in accordance with the shareholder reporting requirements.
- Lead the monthly project/contract reviews with each business manager and project manager, analysing and challenging reasons for changes in forecast financial outcomes.
- Review business area risk management processes, reports and registers ensuring completeness of same and accuracy of financial forecasts.
- Support for business operational management in review of bids and tenders for compliance with the Services standard conditions including bid financial performance estimates and cash flows.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will need to be CA/CPA qualified with 6-10 years experience within the leisure/tourism industry. In addition, you will be an experienced Head of Finance who demonstrates strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking and operational management.
