This can only be made possible with great people and the right organisational structure.  A high level review of our organisational structure has recently been undertaken, identifying the requirement for a highly talented and experienced Senior Management Accountant to join the team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working as part of a team, the successful candidate will be integral in contributing towards continuous improvement in operational, management and financial reporting in order to best support our management team. The role is specifically centered around the financial and KPI reporting of the Group’s mining and ancillary equipment.

Based in Applecross, this role will require an effective communicator who is both strategic and hands-on and can engage effectively with individuals and teams across a diverse organisation.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Administration and maintenance of the job cost reporting structure driving equipment fleet reporting and KPI’s.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts including income statements, KPI and budget variance analysis and facilitate appropriate review meetings with operations and executive management.
  • Management and financial reporting for asset management services, including a stand-alone business unit dedicated to the servicing and maintenance of the groups mining and ancillary equipment.
  • Undertaking a finance process improvement project to drive increased accuracy and availability of financial KPI’s.
  • Asset register maintenance.
  • Interaction with operational staff to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the management and job cost reports and investigation of variances.
  • Liaison with auditors and completion of audit deliverables.
  • Maintaining internal controls including debtor management, reconciliation review, payment release and systems access requests.
  • Assistance and support to the wider finance group as and when required, including input to statutory accounts, statutory returns and tax related matters.
  • Capital Expenditure Requests (CER) evaluation and justification, as well as ensuring appropriate Asset Register maintenance, reconciliation and reporting.
  • Support General and Operational Managers to cost and budget new and existing projects, contracts and opportunities.
  • Oversee and manage assistant accountant, along with providing reporting improvement program that address future resourcing requirements.
  • Assist with general tasks and queries, as well as provide guidance to non-finance personnel as required.


The Ideal Candidate will have:

Experience

  • Post graduate finance-related qualifications.
  • Minimum 5 years post graduate experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Mining industry.
  • Experience using Pronto.
  • Advanced level Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
