About the role and team

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Payroll Officer to join our People & Culture team.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role will support the delivery of an efficient and effective payroll function to the firm nationally.

This is a part time role, ideally three of four days per week.

Duties

  • Process end to end fortnightly payroll (upwards of 500 employees) using Meridian.
  • Add new starters and updating existing employee details.
  • Manage employee leave in Employee Services Portal.
  • Maintain personal leave spreadsheet for fortnightly processing.
  • Entry of casual timesheets, overtime and backpays.
  • Resolve and answer payroll related queries.
  • Process payroll deductions.
  • Calculation of terminate payments.
  • Manage Employer funded Parental Leave payments.
  • Maintain Government Parental Leave payments.
  • Calculation and payment of quarterly superannuation contributions.
  • End of financial year processing.

Skills and experience

  • Minimum three years’ end to end payroll experience.
  • Experience processing a payroll of upward 250 employees.
  • Experience processing payroll thorough Meridian.
  • Thorough understanding of superannuation legislative requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills.
  • Outstanding customer service approach.
  • Ability to interact and develop relationships at all levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
