The Role

As part of our growing finance team we are seeking applications from Senior Financial Accountants with previous experience working for large corporates or ASX listed companies.

This key role will drive deliverables across the statutory reporting function, liaise across various divisions/entities and be actively involved in monthly parent company reporting obligations. The role will directly support the Finance Manager in the day to day operations of the finance division. The candidate we are looking for must be highly motivated, have the ability to work autonomously when required, and be an effective team participant. Construction experience is highly desirable but not essential.

Duties

  • Preparation and coordination of the Group’s General Purpose Consolidated Financial Statements, including disclosures, technical notes and works papers
  • Management of the half and full-year audit process in conjunction with the Group’s external auditors, and ongoing liaison with other external parties such as financiers etc.
  • Ensuring integrity of financial data is maintained so that financial and reporting information is timely and accurate including the completeness and accuracy of supporting balance sheet reconciliations
  • Consolidation and preparation of the Group’s budget presentation and quarterly forecasts
  • Preparation and reporting key information monthly, quarterly to parent entity via various platforms including ad hoc requests
  • Preparation of key financial information not limited to financial bank covenant and project prequalification requirements
  • Involvement in process improvement projects including identifying key controls and risk review
  • Continual review and challenge process including developing and reporting on recommendations for business process improvement and efficiency within areas of responsibility
  • Oversee joint venture reporting and consolidation of information
  • Oversee the day to day deliverables and mentoring of the Financial Accountant

Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualified in accounting or commerce and a member of either CA or CPA
  • Minimum exposure of five (5) years in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards
  • Previous exposure and proven capability to work in fast paced growth environment 
  • Commercial acumen and assurance, with proven experience in the analysis and presentation of financial information to Key Management
  • Highly capable, self-motivated person with the willingness required to acquire the knowledge, experience and skills to progress to higher levels of duties and responsibilities
  • Flexibility and initiative to work within a continuous improvement environment
  • Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Excel including spread sheet creation and the use of formulas, functions, and financial modelling
