About the role

As a Finance Business Partner you’ll provide effective planning, analysis and commercial advice on all financial aspects within a large business unit to assist with deliverables and targets using innovative initiatives and processes.

This role is an excellent development opportunity for a commercial focused candidate to gain exposure to a manufacturing operation. You will have the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders to see that financially sound decisions are made which are in keeping with the business strategy while supporting senior level stakeholders through providing commercial advice on key business decisions. This challenging role will also be expected to deliver on business transformation and using your business acumen to assist with leading change.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • The delivery of results against forecast, management of the annual operating budget and forecasting for agreed business opportunities

  • Managing the business unit budget, plan and forecasting to ensure the budget meets strategic and unit cost deliverables of the business

  • Provide commercial and strategic support to the Senior Management Team in relation to financial targets, efficiency and delivery of key business priorities

  • Provide input into scoping, analysis and sign-off of modelled financial benefits for business cases & initiatives

  • Delivery of internal/external benchmarking & ongoing performance assessment against key competitors

  • Maintain solid working relationships with the group and corporate finance functions, shared services and key external stakeholders

  • Generate and apply data analytics to cost/profit drivers and advise the stakeholders and Finance on the outcome or influence correct decision making procedures

  • Monitor and appropriately challenge senior leaders on business performance and forecasts to drive to agreed targets, reduce conservatism and increase accuracy

About you

As the ideal candidate you MUST BE immediately available and able to commit to a 12 month contract. You MUST have ASX or multinational experience within a Business Partnering role, preferably with Corporate or Shared Services functions.

You will be a motivated people leader with intuition that encourages others to think outside the box and turn a strategic lens to commercial business drivers.

Your skills and attributes:

  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience within a large or global corporate

  • Experience in a business with complex reporting matrices

  • Previous experience within cost accounting within a commercial environment

  • Proven and developed stakeholder management skills

  • Proven record in financial analysis and business case development

  • Highly driven and self-motivated with strong level of autonomy

  • CA/CPA qualified - preferably from Big4 or 2nd tier chartered firm in Australia, UK or Ireland

  • Impeccable communication and presentation skills

  • Advanced excel skills

  • Experience with Oracle and Hyperion will be highly regarded
