The Position
We are currently looking for a seasoned Senior Payroll Officer to join our corporate team based at our North Melbourne Office. This Full-time position reports into the CFO with a Payroll Officer directly reporting to the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of end to end fortnightly/ weekly payroll processing and end of Month process. For Australia and New Zealand. Completing all processing within the fortnightly payroll period
- Processing leave, allowances, deductions and one-off transactions according to relevant awards, agreements and legislative conditions
- Prepare reports and correspondence and undertakes other administrative tasks, related to the full range of day -to -day and payroll functions
- Checking the processing of other officers to ensure the accuracy of information entered into the payroll system
- Attend to payroll enquires as necessary
- Calculating extended leave entitlements, leave loading and other available leave entitlements
- Review Actual versus Budgeted hours within the system and report to any variances to Senior Management
- Ensure that standard operating procedures for the payroll are reviewed regularly in line with new conditions
About You
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of payroll experience within a commercial business environment
- Experience using HR/Payroll software: HR3, Templar etc.
- Experience within the services/facility maintenance sector advantageous
- Must have strong award interpretation ability
- Must have experience within payroll time and attendance
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to use own initiative and self-motivate
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Must have advanced problem solving and analytical skills
