About the role:
A large, dynamic government department is in need of a Financial Analyst for a six-month contract. The role is responsible for the execution of reporting, forecasting and budgeting processes, working in close partnership with divisions to ensure appropriate tools, systems, processes, and information are robust, fit for purpose, available to support decision making and operating effectively.
Key responsibilities:
- Analyse and document data to provide reliable and accurate information for the development of budgets for operating departments across the business.
- Provide support in the development, maintenance and execution of all internal financial reports and dashboards, including the monthly management accounts and business performance indicators, ensuring reporting remains timely, relevant, accurate and insightful.
- Coordinate inputs from a broad range of business entities to provide data for the consolidation of financial and related performance information (both capital and operational) and to support the preparation of comprehensive reporting against budgets and business-wide forecasts.
- Prepare reporting timetables and calendars, develop and monitor project plans for major activities and coordinate a range of program support activities to enable the unit to deliver on its priorities and reporting.
- Collate, extract and analyse information and present this information to provide input to a wide range of reports, briefs and government advice.
- Understanding and working with a wide range of constituent agencies with different businesses, business models and structures to enable effective integration of data from a wide range of sources and different systems.
Key requirements:
- Experience in a similar role is essential
- Experience in using SAP and advanced Excel is essential
- Exposure to using Prime will be highly regarded
- Government background will be highly regarded
