About the role
Due to a a restructuring in our business, we are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join our young and energetic team.
You must be a qualified bookkeeper (Degree preferable) and have an advanced knowledge in either MYOB, QuickBooks or Xero. You will have the opportunity to work with our CPA in providing bookkeeping & accounting services to our client.
You will work directly with the client under our supervision and support for any accounting or software related enquiry. As well as the bookkeeping duties you will help the client understand their business through analysis of meaningful Management Accounting Reports.
Some of your responsibility will include:
Accounts Payable
Reconcile creditors statements
Coding and entry of supplier invoices
Setting up bank feeds to automate entries
Accounts Receivable
Creating, coding and issuing sales invoices
Chasing up and reporting on outstanding debtors
Payroll and Superannuation
Process payroll and issue payslips to employees
Accrue Annual and Personal Leave Balances
Superannuation reconciliation and payments
Prepare employee Payment Summaries
Assisting with Payroll Tax, FBT and Workers Comp
BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement
You can work under our BAS Agent Registration with our supervision.
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Setup bank feeds and reconcile accounts
Management Reporting
Prepare and analyse Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow forecast reports comparing actuals versus budgeted figures.
Other Ad Hoc Task
Design a specific accounting procedures for clients
Software migration / conversion
Catching up projects
Identifying improvements and assisting any client's issues
Software set up
Skills & Experience needed
- High level of written and verbal communication skills (Fluent English)
- Highly organised and strong attention to details
- Pro-active, Honest, Fast Learner & Adaptable
- Excellent time management with the ability to work both within a small team and without supervision
- Advance skills of MYOB, XERO, QUICKBOOKS
- Advance skills of Word, Excel
- Good understanding of GAAP & Journal Entry
- Have completed a relevant Australian tertiary degree
- Have previous local accounting or bookkeeping experience (min 3 years)
- Prior experience working in similar firm is an advantage
- Have a car is an advantage but not essential
- Must have a permanent residency in Australia
This is a full time position and it offers a good opportunity to learn all aspect of the business in a different industry to develop your commercial business acumen.
Salary will be negotiated based on skills and experience.
