An exciting and rewarding position exists within the Menai branch of our growing National Accounting and Business Services firm for a Graduate Accountant / Administration Assistant to join our team in a full-time role.

WSC Group's special focus is property investment, including advice on portfolios, optimal structures for holding property and managing the taxation aspects of holding and selling property.  We assist property investors with the preparation of their yearly tax returns and tax variations and also prepare annual accounts and tax returns for trusts, self-managed superannuation funds and corporate entities that hold property assets.   Our CEO, David Shaw, received the Your Investment Property Magazine Readers' Choice Award for 2013 Property Tax Specialist of the Year and was also awarded runner-up in 2012 and 2014.

As part of our training and development for our staff, we hold weekly in-house training sessions for our accounting team members to discuss and review topics relevant to the clients within the firm.  In addition to this, each quarter, we arrange for a professional from outside of the organisation to present to staff.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Graduate or Trainee Accountant / Administration Assistant to join our firm. The successful candidate will have completed a relevant tertiary degree, or be nearing completion, and be a reliable, motivated and well-presented individual who has a mature and proactive approach to work.

In this role, your duties will include:

• Preparation of financial reports and income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, trusts and self-managed superannuation funds
• Preparation of monthly / quarterly activity statements
• Preparation of PAYG withholding tax variations
• Liaising with the Tax Office
• Support to senior accounting team members
• Lodgement of income tax returns and PAYGW tax variations
• Assistance with electronic filing of documents
• Support with answering incoming phone calls
• Preparation and despatch of client correspondence
• Collation of tax returns for despatch to client
• Preparation of invoices for clients
• Bookkeeping
• Assistance with ASIC Secretarial duties

The successful applicant will need to have:

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi task
• Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated
• Enjoy working as part of a team
