We’ve grown dramatically since then –  with over 300 stores and 5 websites operating across Australia, New Zealand and Canada, with an operating revenue in excess of AUD$500 million.

We are currently seeking the expertise of a Payroll Officer to join our Centralised Payroll team on a 12-month contract.  Reporting to the Group Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all employee payments are timely and accurate, and to provide day-to-day customer service to all Michael Hill employees.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • End to end payroll processing including Super, Payroll Tax and Workers Compensation
  • Processing pays with a high level of accuracy ensuring it is reconciled, approved and banked meeting all deadlines
  • Generating weekly and monthly reports and ensuring they are submitted by due dates
  • Setting up new employees and ensuring privacy of employee information is enforced
  • Ensuring time and attendance system matches payroll information, for rostering and costing purposes
  • High level of customer service for all stakeholders, with prompt and accurate information provided in response to their queries
  • Conduct business in a professional manner based on company values

 

WHO YOU ARE & WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • Previous high-volume payroll experience with knowledge of relevant legislation is essential
  • Exceptional work ethic and a good team player
  • Proven ability to develop and nurture strong working relationships with clients
  • Able to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • High-level written and oral communication skills
  • Highly collaborative and passionate about payroll
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Highly organized and a strong ability to prioritise tasks
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and discretion when handling confidential information
