Current Opportunity
Currently our Brisbane office has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Superannuation Team based in Brisbane. In this role you’ll not only have the opportunity to work within one of the superannuation industry’s highly regarded specialist SMSF teams, but will also work closely with our in house Private Wealth Advisers. Together, our group of specialists provide advice in all aspects of superannuation including self-managed super funds (SMSF), retirement planning and wealth-building, and succession and estate planning.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Preparing complex superannuation funds compliance documentation
- Conducting complex SMSF file reviews
- Working closely with our external independent audit pannel
- Conduct reviews of superannuation funds compliance documentation prepared by other team members
- Suggesting tax strategies for allocating contributions and pensions, analysing impacts on tax planning
- Applying Superannuation and Tax legislation, SIS compliance, cases and rulings to provide to Manager and Partner for review
- Preparing emails and draft technical papers for review by Manager and Partner
- Supporting and assisting with training of more junior staff
To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:
- Demonstrated experience working within superannuation or a similar role within a Business Services environment
- A technical understanding of SMSF compliance and the SIS Act
- CA/CPA qualification completed or close to completion
- High level client advisory and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Exposure to Supermate is desirable, but not essential
