Our client is a successful Electrical Contractor, with over 30 years in the industry delivering new residential development projects.

Based on the far Northside of Brisbane, the business offers a positive and flexible work culture, where their people come first. Currently employing up to 50 staff, work alongside a tight knit crew who are passionate and innovative in their delivery to clients.

The company has recently launched interstate, opening their Sydney branch this year. To support the companies continued growth, this is a newly created position for an experienced Finance professional seeking a new challenge where they can continue to grow and take the next step into a Finance Manager position.

Primary Objective
As the company’s Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day financial management and statutory requirements for the organisation. Working closely with the company Directors, with the support of an administration team, your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee, review and participate in the preparation of the annual budget, including budgeted profit and loss, balance sheets, cash flows
  • Monthly budgets, forecasts and analysis of financial performance
  • Processing company accounts payable / receivables, bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow, expenditure, revenue and operation P&L.
  • Prepare and manage Government compliance documentation including PAYG, BAS and FBT processing.
  • Management of company payroll for administrative and trades staff
  • General business management support to the Directors including maintenance of the company insurance, licence and asset management

The successful candidate will be a meticulous, ambitious Degree qualified professional seeking an opportunity to apply existing skills and expand their finance experience.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a Finance professional who is Tertiary qualified in Commerce/Accounting, possesses CPA qualifications and can demonstrate their excellent knowledge of financial accounting.

You must be motivated, confident in your communication skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment.

To be considered for this role, you will hold the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Degree qualified Accountant
  • CA/CPA Qualified
  • Demonstrate working experience in Finance management, with a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position
  • Advanced ability working with financial software, bookkeeping and accounting procedures including ATO reporting requirements including IAS, BAS & FBT
  • Advanced experience working with Microsoft Excel, with the ability to generate reports, read and understand company financials
  • Experience in Accounts Payable / Receivable and Payroll processes, within a trades/construction industry
  • High level understanding of P&L/BS and cashflow management
  • Financial and management reporting, interpreting financial data and assisting management in decision making
  • The ability to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines and communicate effectively with a range of internal and external customer
