MH Premium Farms is locally operated and managed, with over 20 properties and 70,000ha strategically located over several climatic regions in Eastern Australia. The portfolio is comprised of prime lambs, wool and cattle, broadacre cropping, irrigated cotton and sugarcane. This is a long term investment and properties are developed and improved with careful attention to sustainable production practices and environmental responsibility. The company is committed to being a leading producer and an employer of choice within the industry, and are keen to grow their portfolio further.
With the upcoming relocation of the company’s head office to Wagga Wagga, they now seek a Chief Financial Officer. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will be responsible for all finance, accounting and administration with a small team reporting. There will also be considerable reporting back to the overseas based owner, and regular travel to Sydney.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leadership across all key finance and business analysis functions, such as strategic and financial planning, financial reporting and risk management, along with HR & OHS compliance
- Provision of strategic input and analysis to ensure sound investment decisions
- Reporting to the CEO and Board to ensure planning and budgeting activities meet corporate goals
- Attending Board meetings as Company Secretary
- Management of key supplier relationships across insurance, IT, vehicles, travel etc.
This crucial role requires a high energy, committed financial professional, experience in a commercial environment, preferably within agribusiness and with CPA qualifications, and maintaining strong internal controls, governance and business ethics. You will also be able to develop strong working relationships from the farm to the board room.
