A leading Australian insurance provider is seeking an experienced Data Reporting Analyst to understand complex data queries and translate them into actionable insights.

You will use your knowledge of working with complex queries and processes in order to support multiple business units. You will work with the analytics team to improve current reporting processes and prepare data required by the actuarial team for pricing, projections and monitoring as well as operational reporting for tracking and KPIS.

Key Responsibilities

• Extract, manipulate and interpret data to be translated into value driven actionable insights to paint a picture of what is going on within the business
• Create and maintain data sets from unstructured data, perform validation checks and analysis to support pricing, projections and monitoring
• Develop an understanding of business and system roles to Identify and mitigate risks through data capture and business rules input
• Maintain existing data sets and create new data as per business requirements
• Model data using SAS to solve business procedures
• Writing queries, data mapping and data manipulation
• Produce management and regulatory reports

Looking for Key Skills such as

• Advanced Excel, SQL and other analytical tools such as SAS/R
• Vast experience in a data analysis role working on multiple data sources of varying complexity
• Proven experience providing insights form complex data
• Understanding of business reporting metrics
• Strong knowledge working with and manipulating data
• Experience writing complicated SQL scripts

• Tertiary qualification in a quantitative discipline such as engineering, mathematics, statistics, operation research etc
• Strong knowledge of data collection principles
• Experience within the financial services industry would be ideal
