Qualities - Technical Skills

  • High degree of computer knowledge and efficient processing skills in MYOB Business Applications – Xero / AccountRight etc, QuickBooks, Banklink, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc;
  • Knowledge of MYOB Accountants Office System is an advantage;
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and procedures;
  • Must be able to take ownership of assigned jobs;
  • Efficiency in the completion of tasks and time / cost management is essential;

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Data entry including General Ledger and maintenance of Fixed Assets;
  • Attend to all necessary reconciliations including Banking, Receivables, Payables, Payroll etc;
  • Preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) and Annual GST Returns;
  • Preparation to Trial Balance for the Annual Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for all entities including Companies, Self-Managed Superannuation Funds, Trusts, Partnerships and Individuals;
  • Ensure ATO and other deadlines as set by the Practice are achieved;
  • Apply technical, organisational and communication skills for the production of Financial Reports and Returns correctly and efficiently;
  • Undertake Accounting, Taxation and other relevant research on request;
  • Be able to take ownership of assigned jobs and see the accounting process through to review stage including final collating of reports and completion of job sheets etc
