We are currently seeking a talented and ambitious Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based in Port Melbourne.

Reporting to the Finance Manager this position is responsible for all Financial Accounting and Statutory compliance aspects of the WWG. In addition this role will have a very strong focus on delivering systems and process improvements on an ongoing basis with the potential to be a key stakeholder in the implementation of a new ERP.

With the support of Financial Accountants, your key responsibilities will include;

• The timely completion of month end processes including the preparation and review of P&L, Balance Sheets and cash flow reports, investigation and reporting of variances to budgets and prior periods and inventory accounting
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts and providing appropriate commentary and action points on variances to ensure that the true financial position of the business is reflected
• Preparation and maintenance of all taxation requirements including business income tax returns, group tax, FBT, GST, BAS, Tax instalments
• Finance lead for internal and external annual audits
• Participating in the continuous improvement of processes within WIS Finance and seeking opportunities to further streamline and integrate processes

As the successful candidate, you are an established Senior Financial Accountant with proven experience working with an Enterprise organisation that trades in physical stock. You are CPA or CA qualified and you have completed tertiary qualifications in Accounting or a related field and you have advanced excel skills with a working knowledge of large ERP systems. You possess superior analytical skills, a keen eye for detail and you have the ability to thrive in a time pressured environment. You are an active, hardworking team player with excellent communication and strong relationship building skills who has the ability to work autonomously and effectively communicate progress.
