Accountant

We are looking for Company Accountant with minimum of 5 years Accounting experience in a construction environment.  Salary will be commensurate with candidate's level of professional experience.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • General Ledger management, Demonstrated practical knowledge of and experience in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the BAS and FBT legislation as it relates to the accounts payable function
  • Responsibility for BAS, Super and Payroll Tax obligations
  • Maintenance of fixed assets schedule and Equipment register.
  • Maintenance of Suppliers list and assist management weekly payment list.
  • Ensure all capital and liability Insurance are up to date.
  • Liaising with auditors
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload with minimum supervision
  • Management reporting and creating dashboards to monitor cash flow, income and expenses
  • Creation and Monitoring of internal controls, financial systems and processes
  • Assist with month end and year end reporting, Assist / Support Project team in establishing Insurance and completing all necessary forms relates to Finance.

Key competencies to be successful in this role:

  • Strong accounting and reconciliation skills
  • Demonstrated competency in managing cost control and cost forecasting processes in a medium sized business
  • Qualified accountant with audit training background preferred
  • Strong organisation skills and Ability to liaise with all Stakeholders.
  • Driven and self-managed individual, that can not only drive their own role but the team around them
  • Competent Microsoft applications – Word, Excel, Outlook, Office 365
  • Experience with Quick books, XERO, Receipt Bank, construction estimating software and similar software packages
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment
