Our client is Australia's leading business strategist specialising in coaching, training and supporting small to medium businesses in growing their business. They provide world class business events in Australia and internationally. Due to their rapid growth, they are currently seeking a Collections/ Accounts Officer to support the Finance Department for their office based in Pyrmont.

Reporting to the Finance Controller, you will be responsible for keeping finances up to date in the business by taking ownership of Collections and consistently delivering results when engaging with Elite clients. You will also get the opportunity to explore other areas of Accounts & Finance.

Your responsibilities will be but not limited to –

  • Managing all aspects of accounts receivable  including debt collection and payment reconciliations
  • Tracking and processing accounts and incoming payments
  • Reconciling the accounts receivable ledger
  • Monitor and recording of bad debts
  • Organise and implement payment plans, sending of monthly statements and remaining in contact with Clients who still have outstanding payments.
  • Provide support with accounts payable and working closely with the Finance Controller.

What you must have:

  • At least 12 -18 months previous experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills and high energy in connecting with clients
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations and have strong negotiating skills
  • Completion or enrolment in an Accounting Degree
  • Previous experience in meeting deadlines and working to KPIs
  • High accuracy and organisation are key to this role
  • Advanced Excel and experience with accounting packages and CRMs required
  • Be solutions focused, proactive and a high performer
