ABOUT THE COMPANY

This is an Australian business success.    For over 30 years the home improvement business has been at the forefront of its sector, turning over in excess of $14M.  Operating out of Sydney's north shore, it is restructuring and capitalising on the recent buoyant housing market.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Managing Director this is a newly created full-time role due to continued development within the business.   The role will lead a small team within the accounts function and focus on management reporting.

There will be opportunity to be involved in key strategic decisions.

Remuneration circa $160K p.a.

DUTIES

  • Managing the preparation of weekly sales reports and monthly and quarterly management accounts at both a divisional and group level.
  • Financial modelling and evaluation of key projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Co-ordinate the budgeting and other information for the business and strategic plans.
  • Preparation and submission of annual financial accounts.
  • Forecasting, reporting and monitoring of cash flow.
  • Management of direct reports, including coaching of staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with the preparation and submission of statutory returns.
  • Project management and identifying process weaknesses and implementing change and process improvement.
  • Ensure systems (CRM, accounts) are appropriate and well utilised and training is effective.
  • Work with the branch managers to ensure that administration and support processes are effective.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 4 years and over accounting experience in a management accounting or shared services environment.
  • CPA/CA Qualified Accountant with proven track record in delivering quality employee and team performance.
  • Good financial accounting experience including good understanding of accounting standards and accounting principles.
  • Cost reporting and management reporting experience.
  • Experience in report production, analysis of reports and providing commentary to senior management.
  • Ability to manage and guide a small team.
