As part of Toll Group’s new growth strategy, this position plays a key role in delivering audits relating to road transport compliance including auditing third party road transport subcontractors who service Toll in Australia. Work to positively engage and influence stakeholders including Operational management and third party subcontractors to deliver improved risk and compliance standards for Toll and Road Transport.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Independently reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of risk management and internal controls associated with road transport
  • Conducting and leading all aspects of internal audits across operational activities; from leading, planning/scoping, to the preparation and presentation of audit reports
  • Work with road transport sub-contractors to complete required audits - analyse the effectiveness of operational and compliance business processes, from a risk, control and compliance perspective
  • Prepare and present clear and accurate audit reports and finalise with Operational Management and sub-contractors, in accordance with established timeframes
  • Work with Operational Management and sub-contractors to develop and finalise practical and commercially focused actions plans to improve controls, compliance processes, and operational efficiencies

To be sucessfull in this role you will have demonstrated experience in auditing and compliance methodologies. A background in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing or industrial environments would be highly regarded. You will possess superior negotiation and influencing skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong stakeholder management focus.

  • Five years’ experience in related field
  • Auditing and Compliance methodologies
  • Experience in accurate audit report writing
  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Technical competence in road transport compliance, Chain of Responsibility, and health and safety is required;
  • Experience in road transport or similar operational environment is an advantage;
  • Experience in a progressive HSE or road transport compliance/operations is required
  • Tertiary/professional qualifications required with proven experience in auditing techniques
  • RABQSA/Exemplar Global Accreditation or equivalent
