The Assistant Accountant serves as an integral member of the Head Office Finance Team which services 10 + stores across Melbourne.  Accordingly the candidate must have excellent communication and administrative skills, to contribute to the development of Quality Pharmacy Group as a high performance organisation by modelling the desired behaviours and building rapport with all stakeholders.

 

About The Role:

Reporting to the Group Accountant, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:-

  • Assisting with preparation of monthly financial reports
  • Monthly BAS submissions
  • Weekly bank reconciliations and monitoring banking variances
  • Accounts receivable systems administration and reconciliation
  • Working with Management and external stakeholders on monitoring and following up the timely collection of outstanding Accounts, ensuring compliance with the appropriate process to enable collection
  • Assisting and relieving other Finance Team Members in Payroll and Accounts Payable functions as requested by the Group Accountant
  • Other ad hoc project work as required and general administration duties

The right candidate must have:

  • Degree qualified with 3 or more years experience in Professional Finance Team Role
  • Experience with General Ledger and POS Computer Systems, as well as excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Experience with customer accounts in Aged Care preferred but not essential
  • Strong interpersonal thinking, problem solving and planning capabilities
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence and continuous improvement
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing with our internal and external partners in order to produce positive results
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Capacity to interact and provide customer service with people at all levels of an organisation.
