Our client is an employer of choice in the Newcastle region. They offer their staff a supportive environment and believe in investing in their staff to grow and develop.
  
Due to recent growth in their accounting team, they are now looking to hire an Assistant Accountant on a full-time permanent basis.
  
The key duties of this role will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts
• Collating data for the external and internal auditors
• Reconciliation of bank accounts & journals
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Prepare BAS returns for review
• Assistant accounting support to the Senior Financial Accountant and Financial Controller

To be considered for this role you will have completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting/Finance) with a min of 2 years’ experience working in similar Assistant Accountant role, or experience working in an accounting firm. Ideally you will be working towards your CA/CPA or looking to start. Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills (or willingness to learn!) and being able to communicate positively will help you to succeed in this role.
