About the business and the role
We are an expanding Queensland based accounting and advisory firm servicing SME's, corporations, partnerships and individuals in all areas of accounting, taxation and business advice.
We pride ourselves on having a great team on board, which has contributed to our success and growth over the years and are now looking to expand our talent pool.
Training and development would be provided through in-house training as well as paid training through third parties, with all professional development needs fully supported.
We are seeking an experienced Business Services Accountant to join our team, at an intermediate level. In this role, you will work closely with the managing director and with a diverse client base in a variety of industries. Your responsibilities will include the preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, management reports, tax research and advisory work. You must have solid business services and tax experience with a variety of clients and have exceptional communication skills.
To be successful in this role you will require:
- 2 years + working within an accounting firm in taxation/business services
- Exposure to management of clients
- Degree qualified or be studying towards this qualification
- Have a broad understanding and knowledge of Australian tax system
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A strong degree of initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Enthusiasm and self-motivation
MYOB AE experience is preferred but not essential. Experience working in a paperless environment is also preferred but not essential.
