An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated individual to join a leading integrated construction and property development organisation based in the Sydney’s outer western suburb of Liverpool.
Due to a growing pipeline of projects and complimentary business diversification, the Group is seeking a hands-on individual support the CFO and partnering with the management team.
The ideal candidate will lead and mentor a small finance team to deliver the financial, management accounting and commercial objectives across the Group’s core trading divisions.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Managing the preparation of monthly management, project and cost reporting.
- Oversee the compilation of statutory and taxation reporting and compliance.
- Partnering with the Bid and Construction teams to deliver robust contract performance analysis and drive business initiatives across divisions.
- Take ownership in delivering the detailed three-way budgeting and forecasting regime.
- Implement compliance processes and develop systems to enhance governance which promote integrity and transparency to de-risk the businesses.
- Supervise, mentor and develop the potential of the current finance team.
- Drive continual improvement, provide solutions on commercial issues and support effective decision making and execution of the strategic financial components of the businesses.
The successful applicant will ideally possess:
- A minimum 5 years senior experience in a similar role in construction/project accounting environment.
- Sound technical knowledge in statutory, management accounting and taxation.
- Capability and experience and delivering a regime of disciplined forecasting.
- Ability to dissect initiatives and successfully implement ad-hoc projects which enhance the value proposition of the finance team.
- Astute, possessing strong insightful management reporting and analysis skills and experience.
- Ability to work autonomously, develop high performing teams and partner with stakeholders in the business.
- Self-awareness with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to foster relationships.
- Experience in Project ERP systems (Jobpac desirable) and advanced Excel skills.
