Position
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic, entrepreneurial team in a rapidly growing and successful industry. As the Financial Controller, you will ensure that the business receives relevant, timely and accurate information and analysis of its underlying performance. Reporting to the CEO and managing finance and legal, you will also be responsible for the mentoring and development of your team. You will utilise your knowledge of finance, accounting and strategy to continue our rapid growth and you will play a central part in positioning the business for ongoing success and growth.
Responsibilities
- Financial maintenance including the underlying accuracy of financial data (actuals, forecast and budget)
- Setting reporting frameworks
- Working in assistance with sales teams to develop financial models for customer projects
- Meeting external compliance requirements. E.g. FBT, BAS, Payroll tax etc., and other financial requirements as and when required.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and weekly cash flow reports.
- Coordination, compilation and review of weekly and monthly management reports as required for management/directors and Board.
- Manage timely preparation for company tax and FBT returns with accountants, and assist in compilation of data
- Preparation and Lodgement of payroll TAX, BAS, and PAYG returns
- Overall Management of Legal, Accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and administration
- Ensuring margins and profitability are maintained and grown
- Staff recruitment, management and leadership of the group Finance team.
- Actively manage external parties such as accountants, external auditors, Investors, Banks, ATO, Debtors, Creditor, Insurance Brokers’ and other consultants as required.
Essential Requirements
- Degree qualified in accounting - CA or CPA qualification preferred
- At least 5+ years Professional experience in commercially Focussed Role
- Exposure to budgeting and forecasting principles and processes
- Knowledge of international accounting standards
- Knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Demonstrated Excel skills (intermediate to Advanced)
- A strong legal background would be highly regarded but not essential
- Must possess good interpersonal skills
- Must possess good written and oral communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work with both confidentiality and accuracy at all times
- Construction industry knowledge/experience would be advantageous but not essential
