The Role
The purpose of the Senior Manager - Finace Operations is to be accountable and responsible for the divisions finance control functions and financial & management reporting through the leadership of the Finance Business Partner teams.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Be accountable and responsible for Finance team including reporting, compliance, control, corporate governance and manage related requests from Toll corporate functions
- Oversee and ensure the compliance of group accounting policies and reporting guidelines as executed in the countries under their jurisdiction, including fixed asset accounting treatment
- Partner across the Division in building the budget and working with the leadership teams to understand performance drivers.
- Co-ordinate statutory and corporate governance requirements including management of audit activities
- Participate in the development of Group accounting methods and administering approved accounting procedures and practices
- Provide financial assistance in matters relating to risk management
- Drive the Divisional Finance Strategy and alignment with Group Strategy
- Assist with the implementation of any new contracts or change in contract requirements with regards to financial support
- Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to the GL Brisbane Finance team whilst instilling a standard of professionalism and excellence. Ensure that all team members are all trained and competent to achieve their position objectives
To be successful, you will have the following:
- Bachelor’s level degree in finance, accounting or commerce discipline
- Membership of CPA/CA or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability in managing and motivating a large finance team
- Experience managing compliance and governance of accounting policies
- Well-developed financial management and accounting skills
- Experience in development of budgets, reports, guidelines
- Understanding of complex profit and loss and balance sheet concepts, as well internal Management systems
- Practical experience in providing financial reporting and business performance support at an operating management level
- Ability to identify and remedy operational inefficiencies and service problems
- Customer service orientation with both internal and external stakeholders
