The role:

You will lead and mentor an Accounts Receivable team ensuring that the collection procedures are followed and targets are achieved. The Credit Manager will be allocated a selection of Tier One customers to manage the whole debt recovery process.

Key responsibilities: -

• Lead, coach and manage the Accounts Receivable team
• Manage the end to end debt recovery process
• Reviewing and improving the existing credit policies and procedures while ensuring they are complied within an accurate and timely manner
• Assist the Financial Accountant in providing accurate, timely and meaningful reports for Executives team
• Preparing weekly/monthly reports and supporting the broader finance function with the cash flow forecasting
• Building strong relationships with the key stakeholders within the business and with our Customers
• Recording customer disputes and liaise with internal staff where necessary to monitor progress and resolution of customer disputes as per company credit policy
• Negotiating re-payment plans where approved by the CFO
• Comply with Company policies and procedures, including the completion of documents and records
• Monthly Debtor reporting analysis & Board reporting
• Reviews, designs and implement processes surrounding pricing, billing, third party payer relationships, collections and other financial analyses to ensure that the revenue cycle is effective and properly utilised
• Timely and effective collection of all debts for multiple businesses as defined. Visiting customers site to build relationship with both internal and external customers and supporting account manager 
• Post payments & ensure accurate allocations
• Preparing Mini budget as necessary
• Calculating & Maintaining Day Sales Outstanding (“DSO”)
• Maintain average annual DSO of not less than 21 days
• Effective communication with relevant staff and of new credit management procedure’s and keeping Executives informed of potential debtor problems
• Keeping accurate records of debtor follow-up activities
• Calculating & Processing all credits notes & rebates
• Duties as directed by the CFO or Financial Controller

To be successful for this exciting opportunity you must demonstrate:

Skills and Experience

• Management experiencing leading an Accounts Receivable team is strongly preferred
• A demonstrated ability to work with regular tight deadlines
• Demonstrated experience encouraging and motivating a team to maintain or improve upon debt recovery targets set by the business
• Experience working in a Credit Management role within the freight business (preferred)
• Management or supervision of staff 
• Understanding the importance of delivering an exceptional customer experience in order to retain customers
• Understanding best practice in credit management processes
• Improvement focus for the business and its customers
• Advanced skills in Microsoft office suite

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications desirable or relevant work experience
