Your new role
As the Senior Commercial Accountant you will be responsible for :
- Overseeing the completion of monthly reports to head office, and reviewing local internal controls
- To be a local business partner, and therefore be able to clearly communicate & support the local Financial Controller and other functional heads.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations (prepayments, accruals).
- Tax preparation (PAYG, FBT, BAS).
- Preparation of Month End and other Reports required locally and by HO & APAC
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts and coordinating population of HO/APAC reports. Help deliver budget presentations.
- Payroll - Prepare NZ payroll, and verify reports from outsourced support.
- Pricing management & analysis including; controlling updates & reviewing significant price changes.
- Assisting in preparation of weekly flash reports.
- Helping to deliver cost improvement initiatives
- Ad hoc Projects as required
What you'll need to succeed
The successful applicant will have the following attributes:
- Attention to detail.
- Superior organisation skills, fast and efficient in completing tasks.
- Ability to take ownership and work autonomously to meet deadlines and provide accurate and meaningful output.
- Experience in reviewing and implementing internal controls improvements.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing management accounts.
- Strong IT skills including ERP experience, advanced excel skills
- 5+ years of accounting experience (of which at least 2 years in a commercial environment).
- Formal Accounting Qualifications CPA or CA
