The company

Our client is a household name in the media and entertainment industry based in inner Melbourne.  The business is in an exciting transformation phase with several key projects underway.  You will play an integral role in partnering closely with several key business units. 

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join the organisation in a Reporting and Business Partnering capacity with an emphasis on both Revenue and Costs across the business.  You will report to the Commercial Manager and work closely with various senior leaders.  You will be part of a team of high-performing professionals and you will be required to manage key relationships, both internally and externally, and across all levels.  This is a diverse role that will cover multiple areas of the business. 

Key responsibilities will include:

• Act as the primary finance contact to several key business units and provide financial support to the business 
• Preparation of financial models, budgets, forecasts and plans in context of broader business strategy.
• Identify key issues and challenges and proactively make recommendations that optimise financial outcomes 
• Analyse, prepare and present financial results to senior management
• Month-end preparation & commentary regarding variances and recommendations
• Streamline business reporting processes
• Track key departmental and executive KPIs
• Ad-hoc project work

The successful candidate

In order to secure this position, you will be commercially-minded and possess strong Excel skills.  You will be adaptable and place a strong emphasis on relationship building and business partnering across all levels.  The following will be favourably looked upon:

• Relevant commercial experience in a large complex environment
• Big 4 or mid-tier firm experience 
• Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen - ability to interpret complex financial information
• Strong Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills 
• Technical accounting knowledge
• CA/CPA qualifications
• Senior stakeholder management experience 
• Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
