About the role
Looking after a diverse range of local SME’s and foreign subsidiaries that operate in Australia and managing a team of 8 accountants across accounting, tax and payroll departments.
Providing advisory services to local clients including monthly and/or quarterly management meetings, budgets and forecasts.
The role offers a clear partnership progression pathway, with internal and external mentoring, training and support.
What you would be doing
The main things that you would be doing include:
- Supervising, reviewing and mentoring a team of 8 accountants within 2 teams; Accounting & tax(6 staff) and payroll (2 staff).
- High level review of month end and year end work paper files.
- Driver of technological and process efficiencies from both a client as well as a firm perspective.
- Preparation of country and regional fee proposals.
- On-boarding of new client engagements.
- Provision of advisory services for local clients including monthly and/or quarterly management meetings.
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts for clients.
- Preparation of internal procedure documentation ensuring best practice.
- Quality Control reviews.
- Key Account Management and regional co-ordination of regional clients head quartered in Australia.
- Liaising with the internal tax, business advisory and audit departments.
- Liaising with key stakeholders, both internal and external, of the department.
- Working closely with managers and partners from other offices across the globe.
- Assistance with the preparation of marketing materials.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- At least 10 years experience in a management accounting role with at least 4 years within public practice
- CA or CPA qualified
- Solid experience in cloud accounting i.e Xero
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Motivated and with a positive attitude
- Good decision-making and commercial savvy
