COMPANY
As one of the leading and well-established construction companies in Australia, our client is seeking a permanent Accounts Payable Officer to join their friendly and dedicated finance team.

ROLE
Reporting into the CFO, you will be part of a small finance team, with your responsibilities including end to end Accounts Payable duties such as:

• matching invoices with site instructions / material orders / subcontractor orders / consultant orders / job cost report
• posting invoices to pending file on accounting system
• listing and returning invoices back to subcontractors and consultants regarding any issues
• distributing invoices for approval
• maintenance of interstate invoice register
• accurate allocation of invoices to appropriate projects and budget codes or GL codes
• monitoring the progress of sign off of invoices to ensure adherence to agreed payment terms
• reconciliation of monthly creditor statements
• preparation of EFT batches and cheques on a weekly and monthly basis
• resolving or escalating creditor queries
• requesting and checking Public Liability, Workcover, Professional Indemnity Insurances from subcontractors and consultants
• receipting and returning bank guarantees from subcontractors and maintenance of the bank guarantee register
• assisting the Senior Accounts Officer and CFO when required

CANDIDATE
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• previous experience in an end to end Accounts Payable role in the construction industry
• ability to work well in a small team environment
• a highly efficient and process driven focus
• experience in Timberline accounting system would be an advantage
