Summary of the position:
Reporting to the Operations accounting Manager for ANZ, you will be responsible for accounting for the inventory and fixed asset for AUS/NZ animal health and the cost accounting and controls across various manufacturing sites.

Inventory
You will be responsible for the Inventory including reviewing and reporting on inventory transactions, ensuring provisions align with local GAAP and policy, providing inventory analysis and reporting and review and monitor cycle count results to ensure that the compliance with policy and controls are maintained across the warehouse locations.


Fixed Assets / Capital
The operations accountant be responsible for monitoring spend and progress within the concurrence, ensure accuracy of the companies fixed assets registers, create local fixed asset creations and disposal templates for submission and review and maintain asset tagging/fixed assets.


Reporting
Submitting all global and regional reporting requirements and provide analysis and reporting/respond to queries of results as needed


Accounting & Controls
• Ensure all general journals and other input information is accurately entered in the financial system with the correct recognition of accruals and prepayments, capitalisation and amortisation. Month end activities include running work In progress (WIP), Process Order variances and check of balances and review of transfers to inventory (TTI).
• Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger systems by reconciling all required GL accounts on a monthly basis, in conjunction with SBS. Ensure correct accounting procedures are followed and correct internal controls are in place, particularly for Inventory and Fixed Assets
• Annual Cost / Transfer Pricing: Prepare and submit annual cost data to Corporate for review of Transfer Prices and update the International Costing in PRA (corporate system)
• Costing: Maintain the standard cost files and ensure proper controls are in place and documented. Contribute to maintenance of the manufacturing master data including BOM’s and master recipes. Provide costs of manufacture for new products, as required.
• OPCs: Review and monitor Other Production Costs (OPCs) and D&O for MMD and MAH with particular emphasis given to variances generated against standard costs. Review and explain purchase price variance (PPV) for the site and ensure P&L recognition aligns with policy and local statutory requirements.
• Provide assistance and backup to other functions within ANZ finance when required.
• Review existing systems and controls and suggest improvements, on an ongoing basis.
• Prepare MMD documentation to support the Transfer Price policy / EBIT monitoring.

Documentation
You will be responsible for maintaining all documentation in accordance with Company and relevant quality standards.

Staff Training
Provide training and assistance to staff members and attend agreed training courses.


Skills required for this role:
• Minimum 3 years finance/accounting experience in an equivalent manufacturing role. CA qualified. In Australian or NZ
• Experienced Inventory and Fixed Asset accountant and manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience in multinational corporate and confident reporting across local and international financial systems and mapping.
• Flexible to work with global colleagues, across time zones, as required.
• Excellent understanding of computer based modelling techniques
• Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills
• Experience with SAP
• Working knowledge of local laws and regulations, and their compliance implications to all areas of the business.
• Works to a global US based reporting timetable, with a December year-end.
• Ability to contribute personally on key projects or evaluations, as well as guide others on projects.
• Excellent attention to detail skills, particularly in areas such as inventory controls, asset management, cash management, debtors, etc.
• Ability to review (or manage the review process) systems, procedures and controls as they relate to a dynamic business environment.
