About the role:
We are looking for a Senior Accountant within Financial and Regulatory reporting to join our Life business and provide end to end financial control, financial reporting and APRA reporting for the Suncorp Life entity activities.

Key Accountabilities:
- Contribute to the Suncorp Group’s financial reporting processes
- Deliver accurate financial statements and other documents and disclosures for the Suncorp Group Life entities (standalone and consolidated) in a timely manner
- Prepare and deliver accurate and timely regulatory reporting for the Suncorp Group Life entities (standalone and consolidated)
- Continuous improvement of process to affect a shortening of the # of days from month end to ledger close and report
- APRA and ASIC reporting
- Lead, coach and develop Genpact partner team members, assisting to develop a motivated and high performing team
Your skills and experience:
- Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards and financial statement disclosures, demonstrated either in a commercial environment or in a professional firm
- Strong consolidation accounting knowledge (preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of ASIC regulatory guidance, class orders / legislative instruments and requirements affecting financial reporting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required, both written and verbal
- Working knowledge of financial systems (e.g. General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and Asset Management)
- Strong computer literacy (e.g. Microsoft Excel)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy/advanced numeracy skills
- Strong internal customer service focus and ability to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders
