Specialising within the Local Government sector, Randstad are currently partnering with a number of councils to secure multiple Accounts Payable Officers. Each contract will be 6-8 weeks in length and will offer full time hours.
As the Accounts Payable Officer you will maintain the creditor system and ensure that suppliers are paid in a correct and timely manner. Your day to day responsibilities will include but not limited to;
- Ensuring that all suppliers' invoices are correctly authorised prior to payment and payments are made in a timely manner
- Ensuring that all purchase order and approval procedures are adhered to and that all batches are correctly authorised
- Verifying that values as expressed on the invoices match the details on the original order, and that all details in the batch are correct and certified to that effect
- Reconciling all suppliers' statements on a monthly basis, and follow up any queries or discrepancies
- Monitoring invoices sent out for certification to ensure prompt return and processing
- Administer the Corporate Credit Card program in accordance with approved corporate guidelines, including regular monitoring and reporting of unusual or suspicious transactions
- Maintaining and updating of the accounts payable system to ensure supplier name, address and banking details are correct at all times
To be successful in securing one of these positions you will display an ability to perform duties without supervision and be able to work under pressure. You will have a strong understanding of accounts payable and purchasing functions, high attention to detail and you will ideally have experience with the system Technology One.
